  • AHEAD Seed Funding – Round 1 (2026) now open

The Centre of Research Excellence in Achieving Health Equity for All People with Disability (AHEAD) is pleased to announce the opening of AHEAD Seed Funding – Round 1, 2026.

These seed grants (up to $15,000 per project) are designed to support new, innovative, and co-designed research that explores policy-relevant solutions to reduce health inequities experienced by people with disability. The scheme aims to support feasibility and pilot work, strengthen partnerships, and generate early evidence to support future large-scale grant applications.

We particularly encourage applications led by Early and Mid-Career Academics (EMCAs) and those that involve researchers with lived experience of disability, disability organisations, and cross-disciplinary collaborations.

Up to 2–3 projects may be funded in this round, depending on application quality. Successful projects are expected to commence between September and December 2026 and be completed by December 2027.

Applications close: 5:00 pm (AEST), 30 June 2026

    Enquiries and submissions: ahead@monash.edu
